Welcome.

Last night I swung by Paper Magazine and Ray-Ban’s Sounds Like Paper event. Despite the unpredictable weather, the show wasn’t cancelled and I arrived several hours late just in time to catch Kid Cudi perform. Although my camera is still broken, I was lucky enough to snag a few photos with my phone (see above) while watching from the stage. Cudi seemed genuinely thrilled to be performing and went on to explain that he prefers smaller shows because he enjoys being able to reach out and touch the audience. During his final song (Day ‘N’ Night), he jumped onto some speakers, through the press pit, security, etc. and made his way to the audience. To make a long story short, his decision to move resulted in Cudi being ambushed by screaming fans…
If you ever have the opportunity to catch a live performance at the South Street Seaport I highly recommend it. There’s something magical about the massive boats that surround the pier, especially when their masts are lit up after dark.
