I’ve been trying to really wrap my mind around Los Angeles this trip in an attempt to shake my (probable) tourist title off - which should also explain the abundance of quotes… Needless to say, I found this excerpt from Inside U.S.A. by John Gunther, notable and just dripping with delicious visuals:
Los Angeles has of course been called every name in the book, from ‘nineteen suburbs in search of a metropolis’ to a ‘circus without a tent’ to ‘less a city than a perpetual convention.’
