Judgement Day diamonds by Damien Hirst…
The exhibition takes its title from the central sculpture in the exhibition, a severed bull’s head with golden horns and crowned with a solid gold disc. Suspended in formaldehyde and encased in a golden vitrine, this totemic sculpture acts as a powerful coda to The Golden Calf. End of an Era proffers a sacrificial head, here dismembered from the majestic body of the earlier sculpture. While The Golden Calf symbolized the worshipping of a false idol, with End of an Era Hirst demystifies the biblical tale and, by extension, debunks his own myth-making. (via)
It is currently on display at the Gagosian Gallery through March.
Pill Cufflinks by Damien Hirst…
Damien Hirst’s bespoke pill cufflinks derive from his Pharmacy body of work as solid silver tablets and capsules. They are engraved with the Hirst/Hirst logo and are hallmarked. The pills are presented in a black leather box with a black satin interior which is also stamped with the Hirst/Hirst and Other Criteria logos. (via)
Damien Hirst is now splattering paint for a collaboration with Harley Davidson…
Admittedly, it’s not quite a diamond-encrusted skull, but Damien Hirst has turned his hand to designing a one-off Harley Davidson Cross Bones and matching helmet. Hirst’s signature rainbow livery was applied in his main workshop in Briscombe before the bike was disassembled and shipped to Los Angeles, where it will be auctioned at the Creative Arts Agency on 23 April on behalf of Project Angel Food, a charity which provides meals to homebound HIV sufferers. Bidding is expected to start at $100,000 but should end considerably higher if Hirst’s track record is anything to go by. (via)
In keeping with his splatter theme lately, Damien Hirst has created The Spin Jeans in collaboration with Levi’s. At approximately $27,000.00 a pop, you probably won’t want to toss these into the washer anytime soon…

The Abyss by Damien Hirst…
Surprisingly, my favorite detail at the Gramercy Park Hotel has never been one of their pieces Damien Hirst or Andy Warhol, but rather the glowing ceiling that “evokes the notion of a chandelier in Blade Runner”. The installation was created by Design Element Studio and commissioned by Julian Schnabel. Unfortunately, the room that boasts the countless bulbs is currently closed for renovations.
Numbskull by Mark Kilner. The skull is covered with 630 paracetamol (or acetaminophen) pills. The piece is assumably inspired by Damien Hirst’s diamond-drenched (1,106.18 carats) and life-size skull entitled “For the Love of God”.
