Fan video for Death Cab For Cutie’s Little Bribes by Ross Ching

This is not an official video and was made as a self-promo piece, or just for fun by Ross Ching. I find the incorporated typographic elements very unique and like the use of bokeh technique—and believe this could’ve passed as a real commissioned piece.

Ching writes of the process behind the video: “For this video, I pulled out every time lapse, stop motion and live action camera trick that I could think of. It took me about 2 weeks. The goal was to create a fresh, new direction to take my work to…” (via)

The Long Haul starring Melissa Hood and Greg Lanzillotta. Directed, animated and written by Sylvain Dumais

While on set a great idea was formed. Dumais Studio and Full Serve Productions were to come together to work on a creative [narrative]. Photo and motion commit to a long life together in a movie made from 4000 great pictures.

Sylvain had the great idea of trying to show the elements of a production come together in a stop motion piece. But we needed a story. Several meetings and hundred of emails later, The Long Haul was hatched.

The concept was to show the stages of an evolving relationship and the passing of trends, focusing on sending a message that, in the end, a good relationship lasts. The pivotal point was to communicate our interest in developing long standing relationships with our clients and that weʼre not just a flash in the pan. Weʼre in it for the long haul.

Origami In the Pursuit of Perfection by Mabona Origami. Directed by Tim Schierwater

Commissioned by the advertising agency Nordpol+ Hamburg, I designed the origami models and consulted the stop motion as well as the computer animators of this world wide corporate movie that tells the story of the Japanese sports brand ASICS. The movie won a Grand Prix at the Eurobest, gold at the New York festival, gold at the London International Awards, silver at the Clio in Miami and two times bronze at ADC Germany.

Details on the making of the video can be found here.
