  • Sister: What the hell is that thing?!
  • Simko: A miniature T-Rex!
  • Sister: Right. But what is it really?
  • Simko: A dinos--
  • Sister: No.
  • Simko: An East African crowned crane chick?
  • Sister: Interesting.

Here’s another late Instagram roundup… Currently reading Imagine: How Creativity Works by Jonah Lehrer (the cover is shown above) at the suggestion of a friend. So far, so interesting.

Here’s another (belated) Instagram roundup… I split Memorial Day weekend between packing up our house in Connecticut and visiting friends in Montauk. Miraculously, I also managed to squeeze in an afternoon at Shelter Island’s Sunset Beach.

Norfolk, Connecticut… We threw my grandmother a 90th birthday brunch last weekend and everyone came bearing gifts. This orchid corsage was one of my favorite presents.

I took this photo (with my iPhone) from a window in my bedroom at my family’s house in Connecticut last spring. If you look to the far left you can see the reflection of a bird feeder. It’s funny how growing up in the country I couldn’t wait to leave, and now I often finding myself counting down the days until my next visit. It’s always so nice to see my family, and our house offers a welcome escape from the chaos of New York City as well as the overindulgence of the Hamptons.
Last night I had a chance to swing by to see my mother and grandmother (Mitzi) before heading to a project this morning. My father was away on business so it was just the three of us and the ferocious guard dogs poodles… I can’t remember the last time that I laughed so hard or slept so well.
